Age Resistance
Munken Premium book papers are 100% woodfree, confirmed by ISO 9706. This proves that books printed on Munken Premium will last for generations.
The partly wood containing Munken Print Cream and Munken Print White meets the highest standard according to DIN 6738 (LKD 24-85), meaning their lifespan can extend for several hundred years, although their strength and colour may gradually diminish over time.
Surface Treatment
All Munken papers are surface-sized. Surface sizing increases the surface’s strengths and then eliminates dusting problems during printing and converting process so all books can be printed without unnecessary machine downtime. The books also remain much more stable under different climate conditions, such as varying humidity and temperatures, and will keep their original shape longer during use and storage.
Digital Printing on Munken Book Papers
Munken is suitable for Offset, Flexo, Laser (black/white), Inkjet (black/white) and HSIJ printing. Since more and more books are being published in small print runs, often for economic reasons, reprints are increasingly being produced using high-speed inkjet technology. To be able to meet the needs of customers, Munken Print and Munken Premium can be ordered on request, as a Multifunctional version, then special treated for optimal HSIJ print quality.
