What is Cradle to Cradle certification?
The Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard was created by Michael Braungart and William MacDonough in the nineties and intended to create an integrated and consistent Circular Economy approach.
The Standard guides designers and manufacturers through a continual improvement process that looks at a product’s sustainability through five quality categories material health, material reutilization, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness. A Cradle to Cradle (C2C) certified product receives an achievement level in each category — Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum — with the lowest achievement level representing the product’s overall mark.
Coated paper at Grycksbo mill C2C certified
From April 2021, the full coated woodfree product range of Arctic Paper Grycksbo have been awarded a Silver Level Material Health Certificate as part of the multi-attribute Cradle to Cradle Certified® Products Standard. In addition, the entire production process of the mill in Grycksbo was inspected and achieved the Silver Level which therefore represents the overall level of product certification. In addition, the production process at Grycksbo has extremely low fossil CO2 emissions. Read the press release
Munken and C2C
As from August 2020 the full product range of Munken papers is awarded a Silver Level Material Health Certificate as part of the multi-attribute Cradle to Cradle Certified® Products Standard. In addition, the entire production process of the mill in Munkedal was inspected and achieved the Bronze Level, which therefore represents the overall level of product certification. Our process is now fully transparent and products have been tested and analysed, including all pre-materials. Read the press release
