New campaign for G-Print: Quality paper that survives all trends

A product that is still standing strong after decades is not only unusual, it's unique. This is how it is with G-Print, bond paper from Grycksbo in Dalarna. Created with quality as its hallmark, G-Print has measured up since 1975 and is still just as successful and usable today. G-Print is now launching a wonderful campaign with a taste of the 1970s. Food and punk rock are some of the 1970s phenomena that are being resurrected.

The year was 1975. The UN proclaimed International Women's Day and the new micro-computer, Altair 8800, marked the beginning of a completely new era. Trousers had flared legs; hair was big. Movies like Jaws and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest attracted record audiences. OPEC raised oil prices to shocking levels and Swedish sports stars like Anders Gärderud and Ingemar Stenmark were talked about all over the world.

At the same time, a totally new bond paper was released in Dalarna - G-Print – unbeatable for certain usage areas and, as would become evident, impossible to copy.

Often the obvious choice
G-Print is a white, coated bond paper that provides perfect readability in combination with fine image reproduction. This, together with a high and consistent level of technical quality makes the paper appreciated by printers throughout Europe.

G-Print's advantages are especially apparent in five usage areas. The paper is often the obvious choice for magazines, maps, posters, illustrated books and direct advertising. A box with these applications test-printed on G-Print are fundamental elements in the new campaign. Paper lovers with a feel for 1970s nostalgia can browse the magazine "Lifestyle" with samples of that period's fashion, movies and music, food and technology – mixed with newer elements and printed on a paper that has stood the test of time.

In-house developed unique surface
The unique technology for the coating of the paper, so-called contour coating, was developed early at Grycksbo and is one of the secrets behind the paper's success. With G-Print you avoid all traces of mottling. Rigidity, strength and stability also give the paper excellent printability which makes it economical. Other advantages include a smooth and low-reflective surface, high density and great durability for post-processing such as folding and binding.

Dorotea Gawek, manager of the G-Print campaign within Arctic Paper, emphasises that G-Print's brand promise is not an exaggeration:

- "The paper is actually impossible to copy. It is in a league of its own, which explains why it has lasted so long without major changes and is still a quality paper for the future," says Dorotea Gawek.

In a customer survey, recently carried out by the survey company, Opticom, the positive image of G-Print was confirmed by customers from eleven European countries. The quality level is stated as extremely high - exceptional printability and readability are some of the recurring comments.

The new, yet old G-Print campaign, will be launched in mid-February in a campaign aimed at printers and publishers in 25 countries throughout Europe. During the spring, new Swatch books with G-Print and G-Print Smooth qualities will be available.
