Matt coated paper for connoisseurs:
Design is the art of detail - the surface, the shade or the expression can make all the difference. That is why Arctic Paper is now launching the new Arctic Volume Range – matt coated design paper in three shades with a natural paper feel.
The new Arctic Volume Range was created for professionals with high standards; for all the designers, art directors and graphic artists who are passionate about their work and who believe that only the best is good enough. To present the many possibilities of the new Arctic Volume Range, a new European campaign for the collection will be launched in the next few days.
For some time now, Arctic Volume White has been at the top of many designers' wish list. The characteristics of the paper – the unique matt surface and the natural feeling – give both text and images a balanced and attractive expression. Photographers are especially fond of the paper's matt coated surface, which gives their work an additional dimension. In the campaign for the new range, which will go out to 40,000 recipients in Europe, fashion photos will be the focus and will help illustrate the paper's possibilities. Fashion photography always involves demanding, detailed images, often taken in special lighting, and these images need a paper that is up to this challenge.
The new Arctic Volume Range comes in three shades and a variety of different grammages, which makes it possible to precisely adjust the paper selection according to the special conditions that every individual assignment has.
Arctic Volume HighWhite – perfect if you are looking for a high contrast and crisp look. Arctic Volume White – the white surface makes the paper extremely flexible and usable. Arctic Volume Ivory – for a warmer feeling, still with the finish of coated paper.
One person who has tested the new Arctic Volume Range is Rosalia dá Prano, sales manager for the British market with the Italian fine-print company, GraphiCom. The printer specialises in high-end printing of, for example, books, calendars, photo books and assignments for galleries. Recently, she produced an encyclopaedia of clothing for the British publisher, Violette – The Concise Dictionary of Dress – which was printed on Arctic Volume HighWhite. |

- "Arctic Volume HighWhite was perfectly suited to the advanced job with the encyclopaedia, which to a large extent consists of historic images that must be reproduced in the correct way. We used 150 g/m2 grammage throughout and had a laminated cover. "A special nuance was important in the paper selection and something that the client was very pleased with," says Rosalia dá Prano.
"At Graphicom, clients are always given a couple of different paper alternatives, which they can choose from.
- When we work with Arctic Paper, we have the major advantage of getting access to blank dummies of the paper in the full format, which provides a very good tool for clients in their processes. Arctic Volume HighWhite, like all Arctic papers, is a quality paper with an attractive surface and good bulk. This, together with the new shade was a deciding factor for this production," says Rosalia dá Prano, who has also tested the new shade, Arctic Volume Ivory, in another production with positive results.
Annika Andreasson, project manager at Arctic Paper's market communication department, says that one of the reasons that the new Arctic Volume Range was developed was because customers had asked for more options.
- "Many customers choose matt coated paper due to runability and image reproduction, but also due to the paper's surface and attractive paper feel," says Annika Andreasson. - The new Arctic Volume Range expands those prerequisites. There are now three shades to choose from. But the large grammage selection also gives designers, photographers and printers new possibilities to add yet another dimension to their final products.
