Never find the time. Constantly racing into the future, with a to-do list that stretches from here to eternity. Sound familiar? It’s hard to capture the day, especially for those who can’t get their tight budget of time to add up.
An annual Arctic Paper's event that is increasingly anticipated by a lot of people is the launch of Munken Agenda. The 2010 version gives all those who are racing headlong into the future pause for thought, this and all days presented on Munken’s unique design qualities, Munken Pure, Lynx and Polar. The Agenda is designed in a pure style and has a timeless feel but is still, being an calendar , very much up-to-date, every day of the year.
That’s because Munken Agenda 2010 is a timewheel. It doesn’t just show the day of the week and the date. You can even see how many seconds, hours, days and weeks have passed – enough to instil a measure of respect in the face of passing time in even the most stressed-out individual. The Agenda is called “Everynow”, a play on words that may provoke thoughts about the here and now, it fits the agenda to a T.
“Stress is a sign of the times. We live in the past and in the future, but rarely in the present. With Munken Agenda we want to remind people that we need to look after our time, realising that the present is the only moment we know for certain that we have,” says Katarzyna De Paula, Marketing Manager at Arctic Paper.
Reflecting values These values are very much in line with Munken’s general profile. In tune with nature and in balance have always been two guiding principles in the development of Munken’s paper ranges. This uncoated, wood-free design paper with unique qualities and strong environmental credentials was developed at Munkedals bruk, a mill with a rich heritage in the county of Bohuslän whose nearest neighbours are the Örekilsälven River, Gullmar Fjord and the deep forest. Munken, which itself has become somewhat of a design icon, is a recurring choice for designers worldwide and enjoys an almost mythical status among design papers. Its surface, which few have been able to match exactly, though many have tried, creates opportunities that have been much appreciated by designers over the years, and still are today. Munken can pride itself on having helped to promote a large number of printed design classics on its paper.
“We think Munken Agenda, Everynow 2010, will be a real draw and a popular choice, as we have put so much creative energy into its design. The Agenda has been produced using a French open thread binding method, an old and nowadays somewhat unusual technique that is both decorative and functional,” Katarzyna De Paula says.
The Munken and Munken Agenda campaign will begin in week 40 with the dispatch of invitations to Munken enthusiasts, all 45,000 of them, who will be offered to order the Agenda, helping them keep track of their Everynow. The Agenda can also be purchased in the Munken Webshop (www.arcticpaper.com/munkenshop) .
Those who want a little reminder about the present that will last beyond 2010 can download a screensaver, which is synchronised with the computer’s clock and can be used for the foreseeable future.
