Arctic Paper has been a sponsor of Nordens Ark in Sotenäs (Sweden) since the early 1990, when we were still known as Munkedals AB. The foundation, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, helps to save and protect endangered species. The concept behind Nordens Ark is for the public to be abl to see animals in a natural habitat, and it was this attitude that prompted Arctic Paper to get involved.

"Munkedals was one of our very first sponsors and they continue to support us today. We have appointed them 'godfathers' to our lynx, which means that the money goes towards animal care and paying food and veterinary bills. Arctic Paper also donates any paper we might need," says Lena M Lindén, CEO of Nordens Ark.

Lena points out that it is not only the financial aspect that counts when calculating the value of sponsorship. Being associated with a respected and well-known company is equally valuable, as it sends out the right signal to others.
"It's extremely important for us to have a well-known and environmentally-aware company as a sponsor. In these tough times, it's particularly pleasing to see how our 'old friends' have stuck by us and continue to support our activities. Approximately 35-40 per cent of our income comes from sponsorship, donations and membership fees," says Lena.
